Position:              Head of Managed Markets

Location:             Warren, New Jersey (9 miles from Bridgewater, NJ)

 

Purpose:

This is an opportunity to design the pricing, reimbursement and contracting strategies among all customer segments for the pre-launch of Naproxcinod, a first-in-class medication for the treatment of osteoarthritis pain. 

 

Develops and implements managed markets marketing plans that drive long term partnerships and the favorable positioning of NicOx products on formulary status with key accounts.  Serves as an integral member of the brand team and ensures that strategies and tactics are aligned with corporate goals.  Manages the P&L performance of Naproxcinod and future NicOx products in all customer segments. Collaborates with co-marketing partner on all managed markets issues and takes the lead in representing NicOx to co-partner.  Works closely with the Vice President, Commercial Affairs based in NJ and the Naproxcinod Team based on the French Riviera (between Cannes and Nice, France). 

 

Job Functions: 

·         Leads pricing and reimbursement studies in collaboration with marketing research to determine price points, tier placement and profit margins in key customer segments for Naproxcinod and future products versus competitive products.

·         Collaborates with Marketing, Market Research, Clinical, Medical Affairs and Regulatory departments of NicOx US and France to develop the value proposition and ensure it can be supported by clinical data to improve formulary status.

·         Builds productive relationships with organizations in key customer segments that enhance the pre-launch of Naproxcinod and future products. 

·         Utilizes knowledge of customer segments to develop pull-through programs that improve the positioning, share and profit margins of Naproxcinod.

·         Develops and presents plans to key stakeholders and provides support to account teams and the field force.

·         Responsible for effectively managing agencies, budgets and adhering to timelines for all programs.   

·         Responsible for effectively communicating to internal teams and key stakeholders  managed market plans, decisions or changes to plan that affect product placement and profit margins.           

·         Works effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with company goals.  

·         Approximately 35% overnight travel, including overseas to corporate headquarters. 

 

Skills and Attitudes

·         Proven track record in developing strategic pricing and reimbursement plans for pre-launch  products in key customer segments.

·         Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and develop programs that maximize brand income and return on investment in key customer segments.

·         Excellent persuasion skills in presenting and defending pricing, reimbursement and contracting decisions to key stakeholders.

·         Effectively works with marketing, marketing research, clinical, legal, regulatory, business development, finance and strategic analysis to develop strategic pricing, reimbursement and contracting strategies for the pre-launch of Naproxcinod.

·         Strong interpersonal skills for effective professional communications to cultivate strong working relationships with internal and external groups

·         Ability to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple responsibilities with a high degree of efficiency and accuracy.

·         Ability to work effectively either independently or as part of a team.

·         Ability to manage and track budgets and manage multiple projects.

 

 

Experience

·         Significant managed markets experience within a pharmaceutical company developing effective pricing, reimbursement and contracting strategies in key customer segments for pre-launch products.

·         Management experience required.

·         Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry practices, regulations and all customer segments required.

·         Experience within large and small pharmaceutical companies preferred.

 

Education

  • BS required, MBA preferred.
